Below is an example of some of Caoimhe’s recent work:

• Part of the core legal team in the defence of the Sanjay Shah defendants in the highly publicised SKAT litigation. A claim which has been running since 2018, involving over 100 parties, where a one-year trial was ordered in the Commercial Court in London with a value of over £2 billion.
• Advised a UK whistle-blower in relation to anti-competitive conduct, acquisition and misuse of confidential competitor information and abuse of dominant position. Advising on submissions made to Ofcom and CMA following a review of over 11,000 documents.
• Advised shareholders in a $40 million (£29.77 million) dispute over land and properties in receivership in the Caribbean. This included working alongside Caribbean counsel to attend mediation offshore.
• Represented a group of 47 claimants in a group action professional negligence claim with a combined value of £26 million.
• Advised whistleblowers in respect of alleged significant government failings with an international element, including defending allegations that parliamentary privilege applies.
• Acted for a defendant in a £32 million confiscation case involving a central London property.
• Acting for a claimant in a High Court claim for damages of £10 million plus costs and seeking a declaration from the court as to the status of the shares held by the defendant.
• Acted for the defendant in High Court proceedings brought by a global financial exchange platform, which resulted in a landmark decision by the High Court. The matter involved a complex commercial dispute relating to investments in the natural resources sector, issues of contractual construction, valuation and alleged loss.
• Acted in a claim against a London property developer who failed to complete the build of a vast property in Morocco, leaving our clients with losses in excess of £2 million.
• Defended an individual alleged to have defrauded a prominent millionaire out of six-figure sums.

Commercial litigation

• Working on an alleged multi-billion pound international fraud that it is claimed stretches across several territories.
• Representing overseas investors for a multi-party claim for professional negligence worth more than £20 million.
• Acting for a defendant in a £32 million confiscation case involving a central London property.
• Advising a UK whistleblower in relation to misuse of confidential competitor information with an anti-competition element.
• Helping to advise shareholders in a $40 million (£29.77 million) dispute over land and properties in receivership in the Caribbean.

Crime & fraud

• Helping to defend an individual accused of crimes overseas.
