Chris is a solicitor within our employment law team.

Chris has been with us since 2018, working within our employment law team as a consultant solicitor.

He works on matters including employee rights and obligations, employer handbooks, regulatory investigations, unfair dismissal, discrimination and corporate conversion.

Though Chris has not always been a solicitor, his career began in financial markets. His prior knowledge of the financial sector across the UK, Europe, the US and Asia allows him to offer practical legal advice to clients tailored to the sector.

Chris jumped careers in 2013. At this point, he trained as a solicitor at the University of Law, where he completed the GDL and LPC.

Employment law is a passion for Chris. He works with all aspects of employment law, advising both employers and employees across all sectors of the economy.

Clients often praise Chris for the level of support that he offers, stating that he is always ready and available to assist with his knowledge and expertise.

Recent work

Some of Chris’ recent work includes:

  • Represented two foreign exchange traders in separate high-profile proceedings, defending them against allegations of breach of client confidentiality, against a backdrop of regulatory investigations into market manipulation.
  • Represented a major retailer in respect of claims from an employee. The ET found in the employer’s favour early on in the hearing, saving the employer substantial costs.
  • Represented related employers in claims by an employee in respect of breach of TUPE regulations.
  • Represented a client in relation to the prevention of the pursuit of his hobby. The matter related to his unlawful and irrational suspension from his bowling league by the president of that league.  The client was back enjoying his hobby within a week.
  • Represented a university whistleblower who was denied promotion to professorship due to irregularities in the promotion process. The claimant won on all the relevant issues of his claim, receiving substantial damages.
