Many couples assume that if they are divorced and they have reached agreement on how their assets should be split, there is nothing more for them to do. This is not correct, you should seek a financial consent order.
For an agreement between a couple to be legally binding, it is necessary to obtain a Financial Remedy Consent Order from the court. Without financial consent orders, either party may renege on the agreement and could even make further claims many years after the divorce has been concluded.
If everything is agreed, it is possible to submit a Consent Order to the court by post for the Judge’s approval and no attendance at court is normally required.
It is not possible to share a pension without a formal order.
We can help you to financial obtain consent orders once everything is agreed.
